Haute couture fashion wear

This refers to the extreme luxury end of the market where fashion designers make clothes for the individual client – handmade, exclusive, fashion designs that only the very rich can afford; they are made to measure and personalized. The consumer who craves to have a one-of-a-kind piece gets it at an exorbitant price – this is couture fashion. This exclusive, exceptional and very expensive clothing is made to the individual’s size and specification and will be one of its kind.

Limited edition fashion

This refers to the fashion that designers reserve for people who want something different and exclusive, but at a more affordable price point than haute couture. Most brands come up with limited edition fashion collections; Wrangler limited edition jeans, Puma limited edition sneakers, J crew limited edition clothing are examples. Most of the limited edition run limits its product offering to 20 products at any given time.

Designer wear fashion

This is the fashion wear that is available in the stores and boutiques. These are collections belonging to major designers but they are not as expensive as couture fashion wear.

Classic fashion

This refers to clothes that stand the test of time. The fashion for these clothes never go out of style. They will be made of expensive quality fabrics and shows top-notch workmanship. They can be worn through many seasons without them looking out of fashion or dated.

Street fashion

This is fashion which is mass produced for the masses at a cheaper price. Also called Affordable fashion, this is mostly aimed at a younger generation who craves for latest styles at a lesser cost. Cheap quality fabric and compromises in production results in the reduction of prices.

Diffusion fashion

This is affordable and accessible ready-to-wear fashion collection belonging to a major designer who usually sells expensive couture garments; it is made for the masses. Eg D&G by Dolce & Gabbana. This is a way for ordinary women to wear designer garments which are usually affordable only to the rich.

Eco-fashion

This refers to affordable, stylish clothing that integrates ecological/ environmental concerns – from sourcing the materials to the production, everything is green inspired; It is basically, fashion that was made responsibly.

Cosmopolitan

It is one of the most popular fashion and entertainment magazines in the world. Started in 1886, currently it has over 50 international editions. It covers beauty, relationships and all things related to lifestyle but fashion and style trends have a special focus in all Cosmopolitan magazines.

Drapers

This is a business-to-business magazine with a focus on the fashion Industry, which means this magazine is for those interested in the fashion business. Drapers gives all the insight you need to survive in the cut throat fashion industry with fashion trends and news reporting and marketing directions with in depth studies..

Elle

Elle Magazine was founded in France in 1945 by writer Pierre Lazareff and his wife Hélène Gordon. It is one of the most popular fashion magazines in the world with features on fashion shows, current trends in fashion and style..

Esquire

This monthly lifestyle and fashion magazine for men, is an “essential guide to style & fashion, travel & adventure, design & tech, art & culture and food & drink”. As the Esquire website says this magazine is “The smart man’s guide to the best in men’s fashion”.

Glamour

Erstwhile print magazine Glamour currently gives us all the fashion news on runway fashion and fashion on the streets through their online editions. They have separate editions operating in US, UK, Greece, France, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Russia, Netherlands, Mexico and Latin America, South Africa.

GQ

Gentlemen Quarterly is the international monthly men’s magazine based in New York City, USA. It is considered as the last word in men’s fashion – as its website says, the magazine covers “latest men’s fashion and style trends, celebrity style photos, news, tips and advice from top experts”.

Harpers Bazar

Harper’s Bazaar is a monthly fashion magazine published in USA. Said to be America’s first fashion magazine, it is a fashion focused magazine unlike some other fashion magazines with more focus on lifestyle. It aims to be a style resource for the modern women, the same way it has been doing for the past 150 years.

In style

This very famous fashion magazine has editions in US, UK, Australia, Germany, Brazil, Greece, South Korea, Spain, Russia, Turkey, South Africa, Romania, China and Russia. In style offers articles about content such as beauty, fashion, home, entertaining, philanthropy and celebrity lifestyles.

Marie Claire

Established in France in 1937 by Jean Prouvost, today this popular fashion magazine is published in 35 countries to cater to the fashion needs of a global audience. Their tag line says “If it matters to women, it’s in Marie Claire” – publishing the latest fashion & beauty trends, and celebrity news.

Vogue

Vogue can be said to among the world’s top fashion magazines with “24.4 million readers globally, and 42 million unique monthly online users” as per their website. It was founded in 1892 by journalist Arthur Baldwin Turnure. In 1909 the current publisher of Vogue Conde Nast Inc bought the magazine and since then it has proved to be the best among all the fashion and lifestyle magazines through its beautifully innovative photographs and detailed fashion reporting.
